Oxana JAD

Oxana JAD (1976–, Moscow, Russia) is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose work explores identity, personal mythology and psychological transformation through photography, multimedia and conceptual art. As a personal friend of the founder of ARRRtworks, her artistic journey has been followed closely over many years, offering a unique insight into the evolution of her distinctive visual language.

Born in Moscow, Russia, Jad studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden from 1999 to 2005 under Professor Eberhard Bosslet, specialising in sculpture, spatial concepts, multimedia and photography. After receiving her diploma in 2005, she continued her artistic development as a Meisterschülerin under Bosslet from 2006 to 2008. During the same period, she also studied at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig with Professors Tina Bara and Alba D'Urbano, further expanding her interdisciplinary approach to contemporary art.

Jad's work has been exhibited extensively in Germany and internationally through both solo and group exhibitions. Her recurring themes of identity, memory and personal mythology are expressed through carefully constructed photographic works that combine conceptual depth with strong visual storytelling. Series such as Personal Myths demonstrate her ability to transform deeply personal narratives into universally engaging images.

Her artistic achievements have been recognised through several prestigious awards and distinctions, including the Digital New Art Award "Feel Safe Be Free" (2005), the Sachsen Art Prize for Photography (2009) and an award at the International Photography Competition "Violence Prevention for Children and Young People" (2009). From 2010 to 2011, she was awarded a scholarship by the Lepsien Art Foundation, further supporting the development of her artistic practice.

Today, Oxana Jad continues to develop a highly personal body of work in which photography, symbolism and conceptual storytelling converge. Her technically accomplished and emotionally resonant images have established her as a distinctive voice within contemporary European photography, attracting growing interest from collectors and institutions alike.
